Where are we?

Northwood United Synagogue is situated in North-West London between Pinner and Watford and serves the suburbs of Northwood, Northwood Hills, Rickmansworth, Chorleywood, Harefield, Pinner Hill, and Ruislip. We describe the neighbourhoods as Leafy Suburbs, there are many parks, open spaces, golf clubs and health and leisure clubs.
 
The area is predominantly residential with a varied range of housing across a wide price range covering affordable housing in Northwood Hills as well as substantial homes located on estates such as Copsewood, Moor Park, and Pinner Hill. Existing housing is being renewed through redevelopments and a significant quantity of conversions from detached housing to small blocks of luxury apartments. These are particularly attractive to those who are considering down-sizing and moving closer to their children.

The neighbourhood is served by fast Metropolitan Line commuter rail links to the City and West End, and the M25 and Motorway network is within easy reach. Heathrow and Luton airports are within 30 minutes drive time. Watford main line station which serves the Midlands and North of England is 15 minute’s drive time from Northwood.

There are good local shopping facilities including a modern Waitrose supermarket in Northwood and Tesco in Pinner Green both with kosher counters. The two nearest major Shopping Centres are in Watford and Uxbridge. There is a kosher butcher and deli in Hatch End and Pinner Green which are about 5-10 minutes by car. Further kosher facilities are to be found in Bushey and Stanmore which are also in close proximity to Northwood.


There is a Mikvah in Kingsbury and also in Edgware. Bushey Cemetery is less than 15 minutes away. Northwood has a wide variety of excellent schools nearby such as Watford Grammer, Merchant Taylors, St. Helens and Northwood College Secondary Schools, and both private and state Primary schools. Moriah Jewish primary school is situated in Pinner and Immanuel College in Bushey.
