We are fortunate to have an excellent range of schools for children of all ages within the local area.

Pinner Cheder

This traditional Sunday morning cheder is based at the Henry Jackson Centre at the Pinner United Synagogue and has children from Pinner, Northwood, Ruislip and further afield.

Under the enthusiastic leadership of Headteacher, Rabbi Gavin Broder, the priority Hebrew reading, which is taught through the innovative graded “Aleph Champ” books. This is supported by teaching assistants who listen to the children read individually. Other topics are covered by a combination of formal classroom teaching and creative work, with Festival-orientated activities providing an important framework for the year. An emphasis is placed on middot (Jewish values) and Jewish history through teaching and project-work.

Pre bar- and bat-mitzvah children in Years 7 and 8 have access to an exciting two year programme, with an emphasis on media-based discussion in a less formal teaching environment.

Pinner Jewish Kindergarden

Pinner Jewish Kindergarten is a small friendly nursery located in the Henry Jackson Centre of Pinner Synagogue providing quality pre-school education within a welcoming, safe and caring environment. Children enjoy learning to develop as individuals, through our programme of intellectual, social, creative and physical activities. Birthdays at PJK are celebrated with the children cooking their own cake and sharing this with their friends at nursery during a special Kabbalat Shabbat or birthday party.

During our term children at PJK benefit from visits to the local park, library and also have the opportunity to visit Moriah Jewish Day School, where the majority of the children continue their education. The nursery received a positive report from Ofsted and staff at PJK work closely with Harrow Early Years to ensure the highest standards are maintained and that staff are continually updated on current best practice. As well as the Early Years curriculum our children also enjoy a full and varied year of celebrating the Chagim and Tribe from the United Synagogue has supported these.

The nursery is open 5 mornings a week from 9 am to 12.30 pm but children can join us for 3, 4 or 5 mornings a week.
